Date: April 12, 2001 - Seattle Imax Theater

Wreck explorer, Andrew Georgitsis and special guest, Walter Jaccard will talk about diving the sister ship to the Titanic. They will present and reveal the great mystery surrounding the sinking of the Britannic. The age-old question has been whether or not this "gigantic" ship was torpedoed by a German U-Boat or did it strike a German mine during World War 1. This talk will walk you through the ship's brief history and then present an overview of the diving project conducted by Andrew Georgitsis in August of 1999. This never before seen footage and exploration will lead to discovering this ship's hidden secrets. This one-hour talk will consist of:

* A history of the ship.
* Video and documentation of what divers were searching to find.
* Videotape footage of the interior and an explanation of its treasures.

Following the presentation in the ImaxDome Theater:

An exclusive screening of "Island of the Sharks" a Seattle ImaxDome film.
Then in The Seattle Aquarium, coffee and dessert, with Andrew and Walter, where they will discuss the scuba equipment on display, used to conduct the incredible project to over 400' of water in the Aegean Sea.
