SCRET Procedures
SCRET has a standardized set of procedures that are followed on every dive.
Some of the more important procedures include:
- Pre-dive planning - Plan every dive- Begins days/weeks before a dive and includes logistics (currents, tides, coastguard, boats, gas mixes, etc.) team members, communications, support, and deco schedules- At least one primary boat and one chase boat per dive
- Marking the wreck/up-line - Mark site with floating buoy/up-line - Boats drift free unless sheltered lake- Divers use up-line for descending/ascending and deco
- Surface support - Monitor vessel traffic- Help divers gear up and perform last-minute repairs- Monitor diver in-water location and retrieve drifting divers
Diver safety is the foremost concern
